Foghat™ Culinary Torch — 2,500°F Adjustable Blue Flame with Safety Lock

Sale price  $16.00 Regular price $24.95

Every serious kitchen torch is a tiny welding rig you can point at a dessert. The Foghat™ Culinary Torch is the one that behaves like a chef's tool instead of a hardware-store novelty — a locking trigger, a dial you can actually feel, and a jet that climbs to 2,500°F without asking permission.

What the flame does that matches actually matter

  • 2,500°F peak / adjustable low. Same torch caramelizes sugar without melting the custard underneath and sears a sous-vide ribeye crust in seconds.
  • Piezo push-button ignition. No matches, no butane sputter. One click and the blue jet is stable.
  • Flame safety lock. Slides on for storage or in a drawer with your other bar tools; slides off when you're ready to work.
  • Dial-adjustable air/gas. Precision pencil-flame for garnish char; wide roaring flame for marshmallow batches.

The Maillard reason chefs bother with a torch

A grill takes 20 minutes to preheat and turns your kitchen into a smoke test. A torch delivers 2,500°F to a two-inch spot on demand. That's why it's the tool for finishing sous-vide proteins, browning cheese without melting the plate, and hitting a citrus rim with real char instead of a hot-water sheen.

Behind the bar

Cocktail smokers need a heat source that lights wood chips instantly and burns clean. The Foghat torch does both — pair it with the Foghat Cocktail Smoker Kit and you have an Old Fashioned that leaves the glass smelling like a whiskey barrel head.

Use it for

  • Crème brûlée & meringue
  • Sous-vide steak, pork belly, and short-rib finishing
  • Smoked Old Fashioneds and Manhattans
  • Cheese browning: gratins, French onion, raclette
  • Charred citrus rounds and rimmed glasses
  • Toasting nuts, marshmallows, and coconut
  • Pastry finishing: crème caramel, baked Alaska, tarte tatin

Fuel & use

  1. Fill with refillable butane (Foghat Ultra-Pure Culinary Butane recommended).
  2. Release the safety lock.
  3. Dial the flame — small for finesse, large for power.
  4. Click the piezo ignition. Aim and work.
  5. Re-engage the safety lock before setting the torch down.
